“E Pluribus Unum” confirmed for 2022!

I am over the moon to let you know that the show Daggi Wallace and I have been planning has been confirmed, with a tentative date of April 2022. I know that might seem like a stupidly long time from now, but I am actually worried that I won’t have enough time. Of course, anyone who knows me is aware that I am always concerned about that but the show we are planning is quite ambitious. Normally I wouldn’t show work from the show before the opening, because we actually want people to come, but with COVID, I am planning on changing things up a bit. I will show a few of the finished works as they are completed so you can get an idea of the quality of the show, but I am mainly planning on showing progress images for each piece on my Instagram page as the show develops. You can find me on Instagram @richardwilliambarnett.

The above featured piece will be in the show, and is called “Vegetarian Mecca”.  It and a few other pieces from the show will be available for purchase prior to the opening through this site.

Thank you for stopping by!

New portrait Image added.

This is  a small 8x8" oil portrait on canvas of Jaqueline, a long time friend of mine from San Diego. She is an amazing artist and creates beautifully intricate and elaborate images that include miniatures inhabited by birds as allegories. I encourage you to check out her work here:

New surfing painting added.

Titled "Surfer #2", basically because I couldn't come up with a better title on the spur of the moment. It is 15 inches wide by 16" tall. It's an oil painting on a gessoed panel substrate. I allowed the white of the panel to show through in a few places to use, both as an undiluted white, and as a style choice. This is one of a series of paintings of the surf culture, which seems to be almost obligatory since I live in California, near to the coast.
One of the other completed members of this series, "Duck Dive" has already moved on to a new home.
I have a few more pieces that concern our surfer culture still in progress, and will let you know when they are complete.
